Discovery Acres Recovery & Wellness is a men’s private facility situated on a beautiful estate, near Red Deer, Alberta. Its location is private, idyllic, serene and conducive to healing and recovery. Discovery Acres offers high-quality accommodations, personalized care and treatment for professional clients suffering from mental health challenges and maladaptive behaviours that may be related to addiction.

Our clientele includes a wide range of professionals such as lawyers, doctors, nurses, pharmacists, accountants, executives, business owners, sales professionals, technicians and those working in the oil patch, among others. Our approach to addiction is broad and inclusive, addressing problematic behaviors that may include gambling, drinking, shopping, technology, drugs, love, and relationships, just to name a few.

We aim to educate individuals about their disease, explore root causes, and help them understand the characteristic behaviours and their impacts on families, personal life, and society. Our program is designed and focused on problem recognition, healing, reconciliation, self-care, recovery strategies, and ongoing wellness maintenance, with the goal to end the cycle of destruction and empower individuals to embark on a journey of self-discovery and lasting recovery.

At Discovery Acres, recovery is re-imagined through evidence based care, elevated comfort with genuine compassion and support. We offer an up-scale wellness facility with a unique program for men. Removed from the distractions and temptations of an urban environment, our discreet rural location allows clients to focus on healing and recovery. Low staff-to client ratio allows for more individualized attention. Our broad understanding of mental health and addiction allows us to support men struggling with behavioral issues that are overlooked or down-played in conventional substance- focused programs. We combine clinical insight with empathy, structure with flexibility and education for self-discovery and lasting recovery. Our focus on mental, physical, social, and spiritual balance is supported by opportunities for personal and group counselling, exercise, nature excursions, recovery-community engagement and optional spiritual connections and practices.

Unlike other facilities, we offer upscale accommodations with comfortable queen beds in every room, elevated culinary excellence with meals that nourish and heal the body, transformative equine therapy (seasonal), private spa treatments including hydrotherapy, UV light therapy, and dry sauna treatments. As well, fee- for-service holistic treatment modalities such as relaxation massages, hot-stone massages, and reflexology may be available.
